IMC Members' Night - 28 January 2010

About 30 IMC members gathered at YWCA Fort Canning Lodge to attend a talk by Walter Vieira, a Certified Management Consultant, and a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants of India. Walter has been described by Philip Kotler as “one of the best speakers on marketing in Asia, and perhaps worldwide.” He was awarded the Life Time Achievement Award for Consulting in 2005 and Life Time Achievement Award for Marketing in 2009.

Walter spoke on the topic, “Management Consultancy Landscape in India”. Being a humorous and charismatic speaker, he captured the attention of the audience with his witty jokes and taglines.

Walter enlightened the audience on the economic and business growth of India and the attendance growth of its management consultancy industry. He also shared the challenges faced by IMC India in sustaining its membership base. He emphasized the need for IMCs to be client-centric and to gain the trust and support of government so that they can become a credible voice of the consulting profession.

Walter has written 11 books; some of them went on to become best sellers. He has also been a probono (for the public good) consultant to Cancer Aid Society, World Wildlife Fund for Nature, Consumer Education & Research Centre and also The Workshop for Mentally Challenged Women.
