IMC BUSINESS MISSION TRIP TO VIETNAM – OCTOBER 2009

IMC (Singapore) embarked on its first Business Mission Trip to Vietnam from 28 -31 October 2009. The trip was partially funded under the International Marketing Activities Programme (iMAP) of International Enterprise (IE) Singapore. The delegation visited companies in both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to share with their Vietnamese counterparts about the Institute, benefit from an exchange of ideas and experiences and to explore possible business opportunities and future areas of collaboration. Some of the companies the delegation met with include the Vietnam Software Association, Vietnam Quality Association of Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Economics Ltd, Computer Sciences Corporation and the CEO&CIO Club, representing a mixture of both large associations and SMEs. The meetings were fruitful, ultimately presenting the individual IMC members with several useful contacts in Vietnam and many possibilities for mutually beneficial collaboration in the future.

Meetings aside, the IMC delegation also had the opportunity to explore and learn more about the business and cultural environment of up-and-coming Vietnam which was an eye-opener for some of the members. This will prove to be useful should they consider doing business in Vietnam or with Vietnamese firms in future.

All-in-all, IMC’s first Mission Trip proved to be a success, garnering positive feedback from the participants. The Institute looks forward to organizing more of such Business Mission Trips in the near future to benefit its members in the consultancy profession.
